I have finally had the time to post my slides from the Boston Design4Drupal camp back in June. My presentation really didn't go to plan as I moved through it rather quickly. By the end of the session (with about 20 minutes to spare) it turned into a Q&A. The event as a whole was a great turn out and I really enjoyed meeting everyone.

The title of my session: How to add features to your website with Drupal's extensible plug-in features called modules.

Description:
In this screencast, I demonstrate building custom content pages that are accessible to different roles. I use views and it's built in access control function to accomplish this. The example consists of three custom content types and three different roles. I will build the content pages, use devel mod to fill in test data, build the view and grant access to specific roles. Description:
This is a brief overview of two modules that I use, when I want to shorten my own links, without using tinyurl or bit.ly. In the first half I show you where to locate the internal Drupal links for content and in the second half, how to setup aliases for external links. What your gaining is expsure to your own URL when posting in feeds versus giving away the exposure to a URL shortening service. I don't know what the SEO side affects are by using the method shown here.

I was getting a lot of feedback on my simple blog post about the fbconnect module. So I decided to put together my first Drupal based screencast. Please let me know if you found this useful at all. It was my first attempt and could probably use a lot of work. I move through the two modules fairly quickly. I start out in a local host Acquia stack install and move to my live site to show the modules in action.

I installed and configured the Drupal Twitter Module for this site. After a bit of a struggle (mostly confusion) I can now post blogs to my Twitter account. Along with my Facebook Module, I'm starting to complete the sphere of social apps.

I've installed the Facebook connect module to allow logins using a Facebook account. Once logged in, a user can invite friends from their own list. The list integrates perfectly into the website. A great module for Drupal!

After failing to login to my own site 5 times because of the Captcha image, I have scaled it back. It is now a lot more clear and shouldn't be as hard to read.
